Hey - I’m Stanicka!

I'm an illustrator, designer, and "professional" line enthusiast.
What's a line enthusiast, you say? (Well it's not what you're thinking, so get your mind out of the gutter...)
I see it as this - wherever I am, I like to look around and observe the lines and forms that make up my environment. It could be anything - the dissipating lines of the ceiling tiles, the folds along a person's shirt, or even a gust of wind created by sudden movement. There are lines all around, some more obvious than others, and for me, finding the right line styles, textures, and depths to depict these moments is my favorite way to nerd out.
Looking back, architecture school was the perfect place to develop these skills:
Through orthogonal and perspective drawings, annotations, concise presentations, line weights, modeling and sketching....
Very soon, I couldn't help but to draw over photographs and bring movement or emphasis to those captured stills. I found that I love creating something new within the intersection of the vector and raster worlds, and my artistic style has quickly evolved into a light grunge / pop-art-like feel since then.
As for who my favorite "influencers" are, that consists of Ilias Walchshofer (aka Dr. Propolus), Adam Hale, and Jose Romussi. As you could probably guess, I thoroughly enjoy photography, and these days I've grown increasingly fascinated by the challenge of portraiture.
But stay tuned - I hope to bring my love for lines into the world of video and try my hand at animating!
